Property Solutions for Post Covid-19 Problems

We have all been affected, in one way or another, by the Coronavirus and subsequent Lockdown periods.

I have recently heard it said "that we are all on the same journey (all in this together), but we are definitely not in the same boat".  Some people have definitely been affected more adversely than others.

For most people I think the financial impact have been the greatest and we may need to look at some unconventional ways to recover and get back on our feet.

For property owners who have lost their jobs, or had a temporary break in their income, here are some ideas to generate additional income or save some money.

  1. AirBNB Strategy - if you have a spare bedroom and bathroom in your house, you can list it on the AirBNB platform.  The proximity of OR Tambo airport makes this a very viable option in the Kempton Park area.
  2. Rent out your Flatlet / Granny Flat - do you have an under-utilised flatlet or granny flat?  Clean it up and rent it out.
  3. Rent out your house and move to a cheaper property - it is possible to rent your house out for 6 months to a year to a tenant, while you rent a cheaper property.
  4. Negotiate with your bank - make a payment arrangement with your bank, negotiate a longer term, or even a better interest rate.
  5. Refinance your property with a bank - if you have equity in your property (usually only if you bought it more than 5 years ago) and you can prove affordability, it is possible to refinance the property with a bank.
  6. Sell your property the conventional way and move to a cheaper property or area - because of the favourable interest rates, now is a good time to buy and/or sell.  Find out what your property is worth by contacting us for a FREE VALUATION!
  7. Quickly turn your property into cash via an auction platform - this is a quick, streamlined process, designed to get you the best possible price, in the quickest possible time.  Contact me on the below details, to find out more.
